Syifa's new look

Syifa's school was having vision screening on couple of weeks ago. She brought home a referral letter and we immediately went to see the optometrist. I know I had been delayed for Syifa's eye check-up since last time she was nearly fainted.

A couple of signs that Syifa had shown us:

i) She frequently rub her eyes.
ii) She easily despair when playing 'Spot the Different Games' and 'Hidden Object Games' - she had poor focusing.
iii) She had told us about her inability to see objects at a distance in classrooms.
iv) Tired sign when she came back from school.
v) She encountered frequent headaches.
vi) She experienced almost fainted in playground - perhaps due to sweltering conditions.

All of the above signs had triggered me to bring her for vision check-up. But as I said, I kept on delaying until eventually school's was having the screening.

Parents who wore eyeglasses or more precisely having eye problems, the tendency for their kids to have it too is high. In a review by Dr. Lowery (the chief of pediatrics at Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon), she mentioned that nearsightedness and farsightedness have a strong genetic component, especially if both parents are nearsighted or farsighted. Although, others may be influenced by environmental or other factors.

Anak-anak baru balik sekolah masing-masing (kakak 7 tahun, adik 3 tahun)

**Pertama kali terlanggar kereta orang selepas 15 tahun memandu.

Reasons why mom & dad going away good for kids

The reasons are:

No one:
It gives your children a chance to bond with other members of your 'village' (if dad going away too).

No two:
It gives.....hmmm...aaaa....hmmm....aaa (anybody can help me think of more reasons why mom getting away can be good for kids please...). oh man..I can only think of a reason.

Wahai anak-anak..
Please be good to opah & wan. Listen to them and and always let them happy. Kakak, don't miss your solat and mengaji, look after your sister. Adik, respect your sister.

Opah & Wan..
Please don't spoil them too much. They need to say sorry whenever they did wrong.

We will be leaving them for 6 days. I pray that everything will goes well. Allah, please make them stay healthy, strong and resilient.

"Mother-child relationship is paradoxical and, in a sense, tragic. A mother holds her children's hands for a while...their hearts forever."
